Pumpkins

When we got home from the spookfest we had a pumpkin carving party.  They were so excited to carve them up.   They loved scooping the inside. They thought the guts were awesome.

Xidis going to town on a pumpkin.

The kidlins scooping out the pumpkin guts together.

Baby Mazzie riding the pumpkins.

We tried to make our kids wear the pumpkins on their heads, but even our biggest pumpkins were no match for Xidis' giant mellon.  It was more like a hat.

I decided to scrap the pumpkin carving kit and buy a drywall cutting bit for my dremel.  It turned out pretty well once you got the hang of it.

This one is Xidis'.  He decided on the facial features and I helped him carve it with the dremel.  After the mouth was in basic form I let him do the teeth himself.  He was so proud of how they turned out.  It was pretty funny.  He just kept talking about how awesome the teeth were.

Xidis' pumpkin on the left, Elyxzia's on the bottom right.  She also chose the type of face and I helped her carve it.  Top right pumpkin was one that I experimented with earlier in the day.  It was a toothless hillbilly.

Here's Dad's pumpkin.  It turned out a lot angrier looking than I anticipated.  I wanted a big pumpkin that would eat some little pumpkins.  We made a little tiny one for mazzie and them we stuck it in the big one's mouth.  Xidis wasn't very happy about that.  He didn't want little Mazzie's pumpkin to be eaten.

Each of our pumpkins had a special back to it.  My big angry one was "BOO".  Xidis wanted a batman on the back of his. Elyxzia wanted a princess crown.  The other one is just a skeleton face.

This one (on the right) I call the general.  He has a big military moustache.

I've seen some pretty amazing pumpkins, but the one eating the baby pumpkins is the winner!
