Halloween 2008

One of the greatest things about living up on campus is all of the activities they have for everyone.  The kids got to dress up in their costumes about 6 different times.  We went to the Officer's Circle Halloween celebration, a chili dinner at the Heritage Center with the shoreline ridge people, the Spookfest at the Union Building (where we almost died on the shuttle ride home), a trunk or treat with our ward and finally we went trick or treating on Halloween night.  We were going to go to my sister's work party earlier that day, but instead we stayed home cleaning throw up off the recliner, couch, carpet and kitchen floor.  Elyxzia was sick with some kind of stomach bug and threw up about 9 times.  She almost missed the trick or treating, but we went for a little bit and she didn't throw up (I told her that she would have to use her candy bag as a barf bag. She didn't believe me.)  We had a lot of fun this year.

I bent a pipe cleaner just a little bit and the kids thought that was the funniest thing ever.  Here they are with yellow mustaches.

For some reason both of the kids call them "moo-staches".

Elyxzia got most of her body painted at the Officer's Circle party.  She kept getting back in line for more.  Whenever grandma has temporary tattoos she ends up with them on almost every nook and cranny.  I expect she'll be into the tats when she is a teenager.

Here's sweet little Mazzie in the traditional frog costume.  We bought it before Xidis was born and both him and Elyxzia have worn it as their first costume.

The kids got some paper masks and put them on.  Xidis is iron man and Elyxzia is the Incredible Hulk.  Xidis was really a pterodactyl (I guess that's spelled right, that's what the computer says anyway) and Elyxzia was a bumble bee.  We have awesome friends and neighbors who let us borrow both costumes.  We were just going to make them be soccer players again like last year.  I think people felt sorry for our kids.

This is just a cute picture of Elyxzia.  She is such a girly girl sometimes.  She is always telling Xidis that certain things are girlish and not boyish.

Here's her stinger.  It was a last second idea by Maggie and it worked out really well.  She just used a million rubber bands.
